What can we expect next season?

The 2010 season is over...and it turned out to be a success!..Alhamdulillah...therefore,we have to look forward to the next season of the PIFL...

What can you expect in the next PIFL?

Some say.................

• More teams will be added...12 teams perhaps...
• Piala Giant will be converted to FA Cup format..only the top 8 teams in the league is qualified...and it is a knockout round...
• PIFL Super Cup = PIFL league winner vs Piala Giant winner
• Prizes will be upgraded as more sponsors are joining..
• The PIFL will be more systematic in terms of player registration, playing matches, booking and match data collection.
• Social league and friendly match format is still intact.
• Player transfers will be more active.

On the 9th of April 2010, PIFL Appreciation Nite Gala Dinner was held at Kuching Park Hotel to celebrate the success of the first season of PIFL 2010. Guests of the event consist of players, managers and not to forget WAGs of the players..

PIFL WAGs...(and children too..)

PIALA GIANT 2010 Wrap-Up

Piala Giant 2010 was righteously owned by Bank Rakyat FC after a heart-throbbing cup final which was held on the 3rd of April. The final showdown with Petra Giant was the climax of the PIFL 2010. 

The previous league encounter was conquered by the Giants. However, Bank Rakyat turned their fate around in the PIFL after that hurting lost. Bank Rakyat FC stood up and ended the PIFL 2010 season by becoming the DOUBLE CHAMPS winning the league and the Piala Giant.

Winning 4-2 in the Piala Giant final, once again, MVP Azhar Mazlan went berserk and contributing a hat-trick for Bank Rakyat. Petra Giant looked helpless in the second half of the match which was held on a rather unfamiliar Padang Perumahan Astana, Petra Jaya.

Therefore, this matchup marks the end of PIFL 2010. This highly anticipated small league of amateur clubs was regarded as the stepping stone of a new breed of local Sarawakian football community. Will we see another season coming???
